Mr Morris is a consultant orthopaedic spine surgeon in Bristol.  He is a fully trained spine specialist operating solely on spinal conditions, and is experienced in managing straightforward and complex conditions.  He treats adult and paediatric patients.

Current NHS Appointment

Mr Morris was appointed as Consultant Spinal Surgeon at Southmead Hospital, Bristol and the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in 2014.

His practice involves treating conditions affecting all levels of the spine and includes degenerative conditions, spinal deformity, spinal fractures, and infections and tumours affecting the spine.

Spinal Training

Mr Morris completed his higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Severn Deanery, based in Bristol. 

He successfully undertook further specialist fellowship training in spinal surgery as the AOSpine Fellow in Brisbane, Australia and as the Paediatric Spine Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.  This provided him with excellent training in all aspects of spinal surgery. 

He was also awarded the inaugural British Association of Spine Surgeons President’s Travelling Fellowship in 2013.


British Spine Registry

Mr Morris collects patient-reported outcome measures for all his patients undergoing a surgical procedure and these are collated on the British Spine Registry.  This allows him to monitor the progress of his patients, ensure treatments offered provide the best possible outcomes for his patients, and provide a record of his surgical outcomes to ensure that his patient care meets recognised national and international standards.  Thank you for completing these outcome measures if you are asked.


Research

Mr Morris has an active interest in research and has given over 50 presentations at UK and international meetings and conferences.  He has a number of peer-reviewed publications in medical journals and is currently continuing his research interests.
